Eats: Chinese Banquet @ Shiang Garden, Richmond

Shiang Garden on Urbanspoon
If you've ever been to a chinese wedding, then you know how good the food during the banquets are. There are all these delicious dishes that you only get to savour during special gatherings and you definatley make sure that you go on an emtpy stomache. The reason being that banquets consist of typically nine to ten courses and you don't want to miss out on the end dishes.

For our cousin's wedding, we were all invited to SHIANG GARDEN RESTAURANT in Richmond, BC for the celebration.

Roast Suckling Pig w/ Seafood Cold Cut Platter

Deep Fried Brab Claws

Sauteed Fresh Scallops w/ Shredde Conpoy on Vegetables

Braised Superior Shark's Fin Soup

Sauteed Lobsters Prepared w/ Supreme Stock Sauce

Sliced Abalone w/ Chinese Mushrooms & Vegetables

Deep Fried Crispy Chicken

Steamed Fresh Fish

Pan Fried Happiness E-Fu Noodles

Love Bird Fried Rice

Chinese Dainty Two

All the food was amazing and the restaurant is really beautiful. We were upstairs in the banquet room which was no where decorated with the usual chinese motif. The ceilings hung extravagant chandaliers and the room was lined with floor to ceiling windows. Of course, there were hints of the colour red as it is a powerful colour for the chinese.

I hope that those of you who have not experienced a chinese banquet, gets to attend one sooner or later. Let me know and I'll invite you to my wedding!! Whenever that will be of course haha..
