Things to do in Vancouver during the Christmas Holidays / Bright Nights in Stanley Park

Rememberance Day passed and I immediatley wanted to put up our Christmas tree. However, my mom, boyfriend and sister all told me that it was wayyyyy too early for that. But there has never been an exact date to start celebrating the Christmas season so why not?

I was talking to one of the mom's from the daycare and she gave me a good perspective on the whole situation. Some people really don't get the chance to stop and enjoy Christmas. It just comes and goes but if you start celebrating earlier, then you get to do more things and stretch this season out as long as you can.

With that being said, I want to share a few events, one at a time over the next few weeks, that are happening around Vancouver that will help get you into the Christmas spirit and for you to enjoy whenever you feel the time is right :)

Brights Nights in Stanley park is open from November 27th to January 2 3-10pm daily except for Christmas day.

This light spectacle is enjoyed on a leisurley train ride through the forests of Stanley Park. On the website, it says that there are two million twinkling lights so it should be quite a show to see. Along with the train ride, in the plaza you will find Santa's workshop and carolers singing for all to hear.

The plaza is free but the train ride will cost you $8 for Adults and $5 for youth and seniors. Also, bring along any old strings of lights because $2 from every string will be donated to the Burn Fund.

Do any of you know of any fun things to do around town to ring in the holiday season?!
Share it with us in the comment section!

The outside skating rink at Robson square is a nice place to go to during the holiday season. It's opened daily from 9 am - 9 pm.
