Eats: Angkor Cambodian Noodle House

Angkor Restaurant on Urbanspoon

Usually on Sundays we'll eat Pho before heading to see my grandma, but a few weeks ago we decided to try something new. Located in the South Vancouver neighborhood at Victoria Drive & 33rd Ave, Angkor Cambodian Noodle House caught my mom's eye many times while she was on the road. We decided to finally give it a try.

The decor of the restaurant is quite plain, but it was expected. It definitely feels clean so thats a big plus.

They don't have too many options on the menu, but in the end it works out because everything we ordered was delicious.

Along with hot tea, they give the option to have it in the cold form!

Vietnamese Iced Coffee = SOOOO GOOOOD

Sauce.

Papaya Salad - $7
Very refreshing. Would definitely order again.

Salad Roll - (forgot the price)
For all the salad rolls I've tried, they all taste the same. This was no exception. It wasn't bad, but not amazing. It was good, as expected.

Rare Beef & Beef Ball Noodle Soup - $6.00 (S)/$6.50 (L)
Good broth, good amount of meat. Good portion for the dollar.

Angkor Grilled Pork on Rice - $7.50
Pork was juicy and tasty. Yummmm. Rich was moist, but not wet. Overall, delicious dish.

Chicken Wings - $9.50 (L)
Our favourite chicken wings are from Phnom Penh. We decided to give these a try in hopes that they'd compare. They ended up being just okay. Not as good as Phnom Penh, but definitely does the job for the close location.

Altogether it was $38.50, which seemed decent for all the items we ordered.

In the end, it was a good experience.

The good: Just about everything. Highly recommended. Decent price. Tasty food. Clean. Friendly service.

The bad: Nothing really! Which is why we go back there every once in a while. :)
